Long-term change in the number of
nesting birds at Point Blue's Palomarin Field Station

Since 1982 biologists at Point Blue's Palomarin Field Station have recorded the number of nesting birds on the long-term monitoring plots. Over this time, the vegetation of these plots has changed from coastal scrub to conifer forests. This animated graph illustrates how bird abundance on the plots has changed in concert with the vegetation.
